Not able to launch IE?

Faced this problem today when suddenly my pc displayed the following erors for IE : Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close......

I restarted my pc and installed the IE7, but the same problem occured again and it fails to launch IE7 either.

P.S: IE6 was installed on pc then when it displayed errors i installed IE7

IE used to have lots of trouble in IE6 version for me too,

But IE7 seems to be bit stable... make sure you goto Windows update site (windowsupdate.microsoft.com/) to get all updates, maybe you have something missing / corrupt files...

Did you install anything new recently ?? Or maybe do a spyware scan.. maybe some bad programs are troubling you ( using ad aware -- search: ad aware download)

Are you using XP? And do you use "System Restore"? If you are then you can just restore windows from a date where IE used to work.

Otherwise... just download another browser...

You have corrupted files with I.E. that could have resulted from Spyware/Adware.

Super Anti-spyware does have a repair feature of I.E. that might work in your case.

After you download it - update it - then double click on the desktop icon - click the 'preference' tab - 'repair' tab - run all the repairs for I.E. My guess it is the winsock file.
